Pressure measuring instruments are industrial automation instruments used to measure the pressure of gases or liquids, also known as pressure gauges or pressure gauges. Pressure measuring instruments are classified into liquid column type, elastic type, load type and electric type according to the working principle.
The correct selection and use of pressure measuring instruments is the primary prerequisite for the correct and effective measurement and control of pressure parameters. Here are some of the researchers' experience in designing, installing, and debugging the first line of measurement. [1] 
Range selection
(1) When measuring the steady pressure, the general gauge maximum range is selected to be close to or greater than 115 times the normal pressure measurement.
(2) When measuring the fluctuating pressure, the maximum range of the general gauge is selected to be close to or greater than 2 times the normal pressure measurement.
(3) When measuring the outlet pressure of the pump, the maximum range of the general pressure gauge is selected to be close to the maximum pressure of the pump outlet.
(4) When measuring high pressure, the maximum range selection of the general pressure gauge should be greater than 1.7 times the maximum pressure measurement.
(5) In order to ensure the accuracy of the pressure measurement, the minimum pressure measurement should be higher than 1/3 of the pressure measurement range.
Type selection
(1) Indication of the choice of pressure gauge
A. When measuring pressure > 0.4MPa, a spring tube pressure gauge can be selected.
B. When the pressure is < 0.04MPa, a bellows or bellows pressure gauge can be selected.
C. For the measurement of viscous, easy to crystallize, corrosive, and solid particles, a diaphragm pressure gauge or a chemical seal device may be used.
D. Measure steam or medium pressure measurement above 60 °C. Choose stainless steel pressure gauge or install condensation ring.
E. The pulsation pressure measurement should be supplemented with a damper or a seismic pressure gauge.
F. A dust collector should be installed when measuring dust gas.
G. A gas-liquid separator should be provided when measuring the pressure of the gas containing liquid.
H. Measure certain chemical media should use special pressure gauge: use ammonia pressure gauge for pressure measurement of ammonia medium; oxygen pressure gauge for oxygen pressure measurement; acetylene pressure gauge for acetylene pressure measurement; pressure measurement for sulfur-containing medium Sulfur resistant pressure gauge.
I. High pressure gauges (>10MPa) should have safety measures for pressure relief.
(2) Selection of long distance pressure transmission instruments
A. For applications requiring long-distance measurement or high measurement accuracy, pressure sensors or pressure transmitters should be selected;
B. When the measurement accuracy requirement is not high, a resistive or inductive, Hall effect remote pressure gauge can be selected;
C. Pneumatic base type pressure indicating regulator is suitable for local indication adjustment;
D, pressure transmitter, pressure fast closing should be reasonably selected according to the explosion-proof requirements of the installation site.
Choice of accuracy level
(1) For general pressure gauges, bellows pressure gauges and diaphragm pressure gauges, 115 or 215 grades should be used.
(2) For pressure gauges for precision measurement, 014, 0125 or 0116 should be used.
Dimensional size selection
(1) Pressure gauges installed on pipes and equipment, the dial diameter is 100mm or 150mm.
(2) A pressure gauge installed on the instrument pneumatic pipe and its auxiliary equipment, the dial diameter is 60mm.
(3) Install a pressure gauge with low illumination, high position or difficult indication. The dial diameter is 150 or 200mm.
